Prep Academic

Our Prep team are dedicated to providing the highest quality care and education for all our pupils. The broad and enriching curriculum enables pupils to enjoy purposeful learning experiences both in and out of the classroom.

Our strong academic programme supports our pupils in mastering literacy and numeracy whilst at the same time offering opportunities to develop the breadth of their knowledge and understanding in other curricular areas.

Subject-specialist teaching begins in Reception for French, Music, PE and Swimming. Up to Year 3, our pupils are taught their other subjects by their Class Tutor with a weekly visit to our onsite Forest School.

Regular visits to Forest School, also provides endless opportunities for hands-on experiences and the chance to develop problem-solving skills and teamwork.

In Years 4, 5 and 6 pupils begin to get a taste of Senior School life as they follow a full timetable of subject-specialist teaching, supported by their Class Tutor. Pupils in these year groups move around our school site, visiting the Prep laboratories, Computing Suite, Art Studio, DT room and, of course, the wide range of sporting facilities onsite.

In Year 6, Science begins to be taught in the discrete disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
