Rowing Club
Cranmore School is one of the very few schools, that offers pupils starting in prep in year 5, as well as seniors, the opportunity to row as a main sport or as an extra-curricular activity.
Training takes place either: on-site, in our own fully-equipped fitness room with 6 ergo-meters and sculling boat in the swimming pool; or at the shared facilities with Walton Rowing Club in Walton-on-Thames, with its boathouse, fleet of over 40 boats and our own fleet of 6 boats.
Pupils have the opportunity to attend rowing events, trips and courses including the summer rowing course, the Belgium Ghent International Junior Regatta and picnic at Henley Royal Regatta.
In Years 7 and 8, many pupils compete at local regattas with some going on to compete successfully at National and International level after leaving school.
Queen’s Row Barge, Gloriana, for Cranmore’s 50th celebrations at Walton Rowing Club
The magnificent Gloriana was crewed by ex-Cranmore rowers accompanied by a flotilla of current Cranmore pupils in octuples and quads.
