Remembrance

Nov 17, 2020

8CD’s assembly was a commemoration for those who lost their lives in the Great War 1914-1918 and all subsequent wars in the defence of freedom.
Their video performance took the form of a newscast with vignettes from the time to reflect what was happening, who was involved, the impact of war on those left behind, the internment of the Unknown Soldier at Westminster Abbey and the Cenotaph (empty tomb), as a way of remembering the sacrifice of all those who died in the conflict and have no known grave.
It finished with the Last Post being played by George (Year 7) and two minute silence.
